These crazy economic times can knock anyone off their game nowadays. But we're glad that one company has come around to reverse what was not one of its better ideas for dealing with the economic crunch.
This week, US Airways begins serving free soft drinks and bottled water on all its flights again. Coffee and tea are free again, too. Earlier this year, the company started charging for the non-alcoholic beverages it served.
The company's CEO said the move to restore free soft drinks was in response to his customers' concerns. Thanks US Airways for listening. And thanks to the other airlines for not making this a trend.
So welcome back to the free flow of soda pop on US Airways flights. May this forever remain one of the free perks of flying.
Now, if the East Coast can just get this snow cleared so the planes can get back in the air...
