Not all plastic is the same. America’s beverage companies are carefully designing our plastic bottles to be 100% recyclable – including the caps! 

What makes our bottles unique is the type of material used to make them.  Our plastic beverage bottles are made from a light and strong plastic material called polyethylene terephthalate, or PET, that is in high demand because it’s 100% recyclable. 

When we get our plastic bottles back, they can be used to make new bottles or other consumer goods such as carpet, clothing and playground equipment.

We can all agree that we should reduce plastic waste in the environment.  That’s why we want our bottles back, so they don’t end up in oceans, rivers, beaches and landfills but rather remade into new bottles as intended meaning less new plastic entering the environment.
