America’s leading beverage companies take their environmental stewardship seriously. We produce 100 percent recyclable bottles and cans – even the caps are recyclable! That’s why those of us at Sip & Savor were excited to hear about Pittsburgh Mayor William Peduto’s expansion of the public park recycling program.
According to the Pittsburgh Courier, the mayor and other city officials “celebrated a successful deployment of a pilot recycling program that deployed 35 new recycling containers in eight public parks throughout the city.” These recycling bins were placed throughout Pittsburgh’s parks during the spring and summer months. Public Works Director Mike Gable says the additional bins have been a success - “We have been monitoring usage of the recycling receptacles in our parks and I’m happy to report that they’ve been getting a lot of use.”
A park recycling bin grant awarded by Dr Pepper Snapple Group funded more than half of the new bins in the expansion program. Helping to make it easier for people to recycle is always something to celebrate!
