On Monday, millions around the country honored the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King. In Philadelphia, Liberty Coca-Cola and Pepsi joined to celebrate by taking part in a service project at a local school.
The two beverage companies, along with Philadelphia Councilwoman Maria Quinones Sanchez’s office and the Philadelphia Beverage Association, refurbished a local middle school in a distressed part of the city. Volunteers spent the day painting the cafeteria and other common areas, and assembling recreation equipment for the school’s after-school program.
