"I have been working towards this goal since I was a little kid," stated Felix Baumgartner (in a National Geographic story), an Austrian pilot who jumped into the record books by skydiving from 24 miles above the Earth's surface, reaching unprecedented speeds of 833.9 miles per hour and breaking the sound barrier.
We here at Sip & Savor want to congratulate Baumgartner and his team on this historic accomplishment. Making history was not without its challenges and setbacks, though. Baumgartner and the team of experts worked tirelessly to assess the risks and dangers involved in this epic leap, and had to come together to beat the odds stacked against them.
