Many of us are starting the new year with resolutions to make our health a priority and America's leading beverage companies are here to help. Our industry has a national initiative that's increasing access to beverages with less sugar, and smaller portions - in stores and restaurants down the street and across the country. This voluntary initiative by The Coca-Cola Company, PepsiCo and Keurig Dr Pepper are providing American households with more options to help you stick to those New Year's Resolutions.
Specifically, we are working to reduce beverage calories an additional 20% per person nationally by 2025. All three companies are providing a variety of choices to keep us on track. Look out for an assortment of beverages in your grocery aisle: you can find beverages with less sugar, no sugar and smaller portions.
When it comes to sticking to changes in our diet, we know accessibility and clarity can help healthy habits stick. Therefore, America's beverage companies have also developed the Clear on Calories Initiative, launched in 2010, ensuring calorie labels are displayed front and center on our products. Shoppers can now see important nutritional information even before picking up a beverage from the shelf.
The team here at Sip & Savor hope you stay hydrated and on track to meet all your new year goals in 2019! Find out more information on the Balance Calories Initiative here at BalanceUS.org
