Today we are hoping you’ll take some time to help us make the world a little bit greener, because it’s World Environment Day!  World Environment Day is celebrated every year on June 5th to raise global awareness of the need to take positive environmental action.

The beverage industry has a longstanding commitment to environmental stewardship.  Our containers are 100 percent recyclable and our companies support community recycling projects from coast to coast.  For example, our member companies supported a project called “Recycle on the Go” in Palm Beach County, Fla., last year to make recycling empty beverage containers easier and more accessible to residents and visitors in public spaces such as parks and beaches. As an industry, we’re doing our part to minimize our environmental impact, and we’re helping consumers and communities do the same.  We are lightweighting our packaging, reducing the amount of materials we use to package our products, incorporating more fuel-efficient fleet vehicles and making our facilities more energy-efficient.
