It may be the final day of InterBev 2010, but the excitement on the show floor remains as high as when attendees and exhibitors first arrived a few days ago.
The InterBev Beverage Bar, featuring samples from a number of soft drinks, bottled waters, relaxation beverages, coconut waters, teas and sports drinks, remains one of the most popular features on the show floor. Exhibitors and attendees alike have been stopping by all week to sample sips of new products and some old favorites too.
Industry veterans, young entrepreneurs and many others in the beverage world have taken part in this year’s event. Highlights have included engaging education sessions, a number of fun receptions honoring the best in the business, and a dynamic live experience that has electrified the show floor.
Last evening, Larry Young, CEO of the Dr Pepper Snapple Group won the “Executive of the Year Award” from Beverage Industry magazine! Mr. Young graciously thanked his friends and colleagues for their nominations and support.
Following the rousing reception for Mr. Young, the crowd moved to the InterBev Beverage Innovation Awards Program and dinner. This is a longstanding awards show but an inaugural event for InterBev. Bill Bruce, editorial director, FoodBev Media and Claire Phoenix, managing editor, Beverage Innovation, were the hosts of the program which recognizes innovative products, programs and practices in the beverage industry. It was a truly great event, and many were honored.
All in all, it’s been a great event and a fun time in Orlando, Fla. We’ll be wrapping up the show later this afternoon, but there remain numerous networking opportunities to explore and a few more hours to enjoy all that InterBev has to offer. We appreciate everyone who has been following our Twitter, Facebook and blog updates about the show, and we would like to offer a very sincere thank you to all of the attendees and exhibitors who made this event possible.
See you in 2012!
