Today is #GivingTuesday, a recent addition to the #BlackFriday, #SmallBusinessSaturday and #CyberMonday lineup. It’s a favorite here at Sip & Savor, though the beverage industry doesn’t donate just one day a year. Charitable giving is a year-round commitment of beverage companies to their communities.
Let’s Play! is a partnership spearheaded by Dr. Pepper Snapple Group with KaBOOM! and Good Sports. The effort provides the tools, places and inspiration to make play a daily priority for nearly 10 million kids. Dr. Pepper is also a supporter of United Way, contributing more than $13.5 million to the organization since 2008.
Pepsi’s PepsiCo Foundation does work around the globe, improving the communities where it operates and the lives of the people who call these communities home. The Foundation does everything from disaster relief to offering grants for community projects. Since 2005, PepsiCo and its Foundation has donated more than $800 million in cash and product to agencies working in the environmental, educational, civic, arts, and the health and human service fields.
The Coca-Cola Company has a partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America through Triple Play, a program that teaches kids about nutrition and physical activity. Coca-Cola also works with the Red Cross in disaster areas and to provide humanitarian relief - a partnership that dates back to 1917. Coke is taking the opportunity of #GivingTuesday to raise funds in support the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation, which has provided scholarships to thousands of outstanding students nationwide. Check out #CokeScholarsGive to find out more.
You probably have your favorite charities too. If so, think about taking part in this year’s #GivingTuesday.
