One year ago today, an earthquake rocked the island nation of Haiti and killed more than 200,000 people, crippling an already struggling government and economy.  The mobilization of relief efforts was swift and impressive in scope, but unfortunately the recovery process, while still ongoing, has slowed significantly.  As of July of last year, reports described the landscape as similar to the devastation just after the earthquake.

Last year, we wrote about the early responders as well as our member companies’ efforts to help the people of Haiti.  The disaster in Haiti is an example of industries and communities coming together to help those in need and it encourages others to do the same.

So today we’d like to remind our readers of the hardships that still exist in Haiti and beyond and encourage you to find a way to make a difference.
