While Earth Day is officially tomorrow, we here at Sip & Savor figured we’d start acknowledging the one and only holiday dedicated to keeping our planet green a day early.  First celebrated in 1970, this year marks the 40th anniversary of the event. And this year’s theme is “A Billion Acts of Green.”

It’s a perfect theme for beverage producers and consumers, who understand how small acts, like simply recycling your beverage container, can add up to make a big difference.

The beverage industry is no stranger to the green movement.  In fact, when it comes to minimizing its environmental impact, the beverage industry is a leader among the food products industry.  Our containers are 100 percent recyclable and our companies support community recycling projects from coast to coast.  We are reducing packaging to use less plastic, incorporating more fuel-efficient fleet vehicles and using energy-efficient buildings.
