The City of Broken Arrow, Okla. excitedly announced the launch of their first curbside recycling program this July. In support of the city’s efforts, and through the Every Bottle Back initiative, America’s leading beverage companies and The Recycling Partnership made an investment of $390,500 that will help provide 35,000 households with recycling carts and educational materials.
Broken Arrow City Manager Michael Spurgeon told Waste 360, “the introduction of recycling to Broken Arrow’s refuse program demonstrates the City’s commitment to high quality and sustainable municipal programming.”
Since the announcement, over 90% of city residents have opted in to start curbside recycling. “[We] are excited to see the City of Broken Arrow make it easier for residents to recycle,” said Chris Coady, director of Community Programs at The Recycling Partnership. “We want to thank the American Beverage Association for helping fund this important initiative to increase recycling access and education.”
