Yesterday, we blogged on the first place winner of the 2014 Childhood Obesity Prevention Awards in the small city category. Today, we want to congratulate Waterbury, Conn., for their first place win in the medium city category. Through Mayor Neil O’Leary’s “Kids Marathon Program,” the children of Waterbury are being introduced to the many benefits of running for recreation and learning more about physical activity.
Check out this video highlighting Waterbury’s innovative program. Congratulations to Mayor O’Leary and the people of Waterbury! Keep up the good work!
