America's leading beverage companies are committed to reducing their plastic footprint. Through our groundbreaking initiative, Every Bottle Back, we're marshalling the equivalent of nearly a half-billion dollars to increase the amount of plastic that is collected and remade into new products.
Led by The Coca-Cola Company, Keurig Dr Pepper and PepsiCo, and in partnership with World Wildlife Fund, The Recycling Partnership and Closed Loop Partners, the beverage industry is working to advance a more circular system for our 100% recyclable plastic bottles. By doing so we're ensuring they don't end up in places they don't belong, such as oceans, rivers, beaches or landfills.
In 2020 alone, we committed more than $10 million towards regional modernization projects to enhance recycling infrastructure in 11 local communities. These projects are projected to help collect 644 million more pounds of PET over ten years that can be recycled and remade into new bottles and other items.
