Today we were proud to underwrite National Journal’s second Inaugural Women 2020 Conference in Washington, D.C., where powerful female leaders gathered for a series of conversations on the evolving role of women in leadership.
Women’s contributions to the labor force have progressed exponentially over the past four decades, leading to significant changes in the lives women in the workforce lead - and the legacy they will leave behind. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor and Statistics, in 2011, more than 58 percent of women were employed.
America’s non-alcoholic beverage industry also understands how important women are to both the global economy and societal growth. Just earlier this year, The Coca-Cola Company was awarded the Catalyst Award for the company’s global women’s initiative called “Women as the Real Drivers of the 21st Century.” PepsiCo, too, understands the value of women in the workforce, and, as such, established a Female Talent Development Program in the Middle East and Africa. In fact, PepsiCo CEO Indra Nooyi is one of only 18 women at the helm of a Fortune 500 company.
Today’s discussions and ideas will continue to shape the success of women around the globe for generations to come - and we at Sip & Savor cannot wait to see what the future holds.
