This week wraps up the end of Hispanic Heritage Month, the yearly period where we celebrate the cultures and contributions of Spanish and Latin American families across the globe. Here at Sip & Savor, we’re proud to recognize the influence Hispanic culture has had on the beverage industry and the communities we serve.

America’s beverage companies bottle and distribute many tasty beverages inspired by or made in Latin countries, such as Topo Chico sparking water or Fresca flavored soda. Whether through workforce training and programs, products delivered or community investments, the beverage industry is proud to support such a rich culture whose influence is felt both at home and abroad.

At The Coca-Cola Company, an employee-led Hispanic Leadership Business Resource Group works to ensure the company is a great place to work for Latinos by providing employees with development, engagement and community involvement opportunities to empower employees and enhance neighboring communities.

Recently, PepsiCo announced a three-pronged effort to uplift Hispanic Americans by leveraging their scale and reach to catalyze positive change for people, businesses, and communities. This announcement includes a more than $170 million investment to “battle issues of Hispanic inequality.”

Keurig Dr Pepper (KDP) partners with communities in Central and South America for many of their coffee-based products. In 2014, KDP helped launch Blue Harvest, a program designed to restore, protect and improve water resource management for farmers in coffee lands in Central America. Keurig Dr Pepper’s partnership with Root Capital, a nonprofit agricultural lender, also supports financial training and critical advisory services to organizations that small Central American farmers rely on to market and sell their coffee to buyers, such as KDP, so that farmers have the support they need to succeed in their businesses.

So whether we’re working to support Hispanic communities or enjoying a delicious Latin meal with a refreshing beverage, we hope you enjoy celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with us. Cheers!
