When you’re in the car this holiday season traveling over the rivers and through the woods, so are our industry’s fleets. America’s beverage companies' fleets are some of the largest in the Western Hemisphere, and some of the cleanest.
We take our commitment to the environment seriously, which is why we worked hard to increase the fuel economy of our fleets by nearly 13 percent since 2010. We also have the largest number of heavy duty electric commercial trucks on the road in North America, which bring a 30 percent emissions reduction per vehicle.
Earlier in the year, two of America’s leading beverage companies met at the White House to announce new private-sector commitments that will reduce the use and emissions of greenhouse gases known as hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs). These companies have made great strides in the last year alone to increase the use of HFC-free equipment throughout their systems. And they’ve laid out plans to continue this work throughout 2016 on the way to becoming 100% HFC-free in cooling equipment.
