Last week, thousands of residents across the Northeast experienced the devastating effects of super storm Sandy. In the wake of this disaster, our member companies came forward to provide assistance to help all those impacted. Here are just a few examples of what America’s beverage companies are doing to assist in relief efforts in the wake of this natural disaster:

The Coca-Cola Company: Pledged $1 million to local community relief efforts across the Northeast to help provide resources for necessary food and shelter in the short-term and aid in the long-term rebuilding efforts.

PepsiCo: Donated five trailer truck loads of beverages and three trailer truck loads of snacks, totaling more than 100,000 cases of products, to New York State. In addition, PepsiCo has committed to donating another 22 trailer truck loads of similar supplies over the next week.

Nestlé Waters North America: Donated more than 500,000 bottles of water to its emergency relief partners, Americares and the American Red Cross, to serve communities across the Northeast affected by Hurricane Sandy. Additional donations are expected in the coming days.

Our member companies are integral parts of their communities with a long history of uniting in the face of challenges – such as relief efforts following natural disaster – and we here at Sip & Savor are proud of the support they are providing as clean up and recovery continues.
