Over the past two weeks, South Carolina has been hit with historic rains and widespread flooding that have left 40,000 people without water.
Many people and businesses are coming forward to help, and beverage companies were among those who answered Gov. Nikki Haley’s call for assistance to the people of South Carolina. Coca-Cola and PepsiCo bottlers in the region responded with a delivery of more than 800,000 bottles of water. Additional donations are expected in the coming days.
We know that the people of South Carolina will persevere and rebuild their homes and their lives. Like all Americans, the people who are part of the beverage industry hope the path to restoration and a return to normalcy for the victims of the devastation in South Carolina is not long.
